About Us

Area 31 is a concept I came up with while vending at Flashback Weekend in Chicago with my buddies.  I had a successful silkscreening and embroidery business for the past 20 years which I called, 3^rd Degree Design & Apparel, Inc.  I love working with the many clients I have, but at the same time I have never printed or sold stuff for myself.  Running an online retail store and promoting to people I have never met really appealed to me.

Horror movies are my fave… they are scary, gory, funny, cheesy, etc… you name it, they have it. I love it all!  I want to create my own designs and put them out to people.  I have met thousands of people at the conventions and love talking movies…  I also study what people are wearing.  I love a good graphic tee, but at the events most tend to be printed on black.  I want to be different… I always have.  I still offer black for certain designs, but I have many other colors to offer.

Most of my designs will have a bit of wittiness to them… that’s how I roll every day of my life.  I always want to see someone crack a smile looking at my designs.
